BuildStore’s Statutory Board
BuildStore’s board of directors establish the top level directives. They are responsible for driving and monitoring the strategic direction of the company as well as providing support and advice for internal management. They are also charged with helping to raise awareness of BuildStore throughout the wider business community.

Geoffrey Maddrell
Chairman, BuildStore Ltd.
Geoffrey Maddrell was educated at Cambridge University (MA Hons) and at Columbia Business School (MBA). His early business career was spent in marketing at Shell International followed by fourteen years at Bowater Corporation, seven of which were spent as a Main Board Director, restructuring a number of European businesses, including building products and builders' merchanting. There then followed five years as Chief Executive of Total Group Plc. Geoffrey has focused over the past seven years on leading, as Chairman, a number of industrial concerns whose common feature has been the need for strategic redirection prior to expansion. These include Westbury Plc., one of the UK's leading housebuilders, Glenmorangie plc., LDV Ltd. and UNITE Group Plc., a company in the construction sector.

Nigel Fee
Non-Executive Director, BuildStore Ltd.
Nigel Fee is a graduate of London University (BSc.Econ Hons). His first significant career placement was with The Housing Corporation working on the implementation of the Housing Act 1974 which transformed the social housing movement paving the way for the rise of the Voluntary sector which is dominant today. Nigel moved from policy and administration to an executive role as Director of Development with World of Property Housing Trust where he oversaw the refurbishment of major estates in London and the development of many new estates in Southern England. A move to Wimpey Homes followed where he managed the group’s entry into the sheltered housing market. From there Nigel spent periods of time with other major developers including Charles Church before joining Westbury plc one of the top ten UK housebuilders where he served for 15 years rising to Chief Executive.

Raymond Connor
Chief Executive Officer
Raymond Connor is a law graduate from Edinburgh University who started his own law practice in 1983, and from then he has specialised in property. Our Chief Executive has a keen interest in financial services and a broad knowledge of the private housebuilding sector. Raymond has been the driving force behind the success of BuildStore to date, and will continue to be so.
Tim Doherty
Managing Director of Building Services
A seasoned property professional with years of experience in design, construction and project management for the self build industry. With qualifications in Construction Management and Marketing, Tim joined BuildStore in 2004 to help drive the development of our building support division thereby completing BuildStore's mission to provide a fully integrated end to end customer service.
David Marshall
Group Financial Director
David gained an honours degree in Accountancy at Glasgow University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with ICAS in 1984. He was a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner with ICAS for six years and was a member of SPI and the Institute of Credit Management. David worked for Arthur Andersen for thirteen years in audit, tax and corporate financial services. He specialised in corporate finance and business turnarounds. He has experience of many different industry sectors and has worked with companies of all different sizes at varying stages in their corporate development. Since leaving the profession in 1996, David has been an executive Director of both quoted and unquoted companies operating in UK, Europe and North America in industries as diverse as manufacturing, technology, finance and services. He is well connected in the venture capital and corporate finance communities in Scotland.
