About the Centre
The National Self Build & Renovation Centre has been built on a scale unseen in the UK. You may never have thought about what goes into building or renovating a home. So much of the knowledge needed is hidden from view or littered with jargon. But here you can walk through exhibits that lay bare and contrast the various methods of building in exploded detail.

The Potton Show House Full of character on the outside, packed with up-to-the-minute technology on the inside, Potton’s full sized home is an inspiration to self build whatever your tastes. It shows that building a beautiful new home with all the space you’ll ever need can be within everyone’s grasp. |

The Renovation Zone At first glance this is one of the worst wrecks you’ll ever see – damp, leaky guttering, rotten timbers, damaged brick and stone work – this house has the lot. Take a walk through though and see this old property come to life before your very eyes and ears – the audio guide on your headphones will give you the expert low-down on what’s in front of you. |
