As a self builder or renovator, once you’ve found your ideal plot of land or your property, two of the next major steps are getting the design right, and getting planning permission for the work you want done. These tasks are also two of the most complicated and can cause headaches for many home builders. The Design & Planning Weekend at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre will give you all the help you need to prepare yourself for the design and planning process, arm you with all the information you need and give you advice on any specific problems you may face with your plans and ideas. This event will be useful to those just starting to consider self build and wanting more information on what goes into the process, anyone who may have just started looking at plots of land or renovation projects, or gone as far as purchasing the site of their new home and even for seasoned self builders and renovators who may be looking at using a different design method for their next project!
With seminars throughout the weekend covering everything from arranging finance through to working with architects, as well as a raft of experts on hand dishing out free advice on buying package homes, sourcing materials for your project, working with architects, planning, building regs and the Code for Sustainable Homes, and self build and renovation in general, you'll find everything you need.
Tickets to Design & Planning are free when booked in advance; on the door they will cost £8 pr adult (£12 for a couple) and kids go free. Don’t miss out: get your free tickets for Design & Planning now!
