Live Demo Area

The Live Demo Area was introduced to the Show in 2009 and it was so popular that we’ve expanded it for 2010! You’ll now find a much greater selection of products being demonstrated, from Thermal Insulation Wall Paint right through to Balconies.

If you want to learn more about the products you’ll be installing into your new home, then the Live Demo Area is a must. Here, you’ll be able to see the experts performing live installations, get their advice on sourcing products, research costs and pick their brains for the major dos and don’ts of each item. Many will even let you get stuck in and have a go yourself.

Demos include:

Paint & Varnish - Nutshell Paints;

Nutshell Paints will be demonstrating their Eco Paints and Varnish Removers (so non-toxic you can use it with bare hands) and their Thermal Insulation Wall Paint, which uses nanotechnology to reflect up to 92% of the heat back into the room.

Roofs - Landmark Living Roofs;

Landmark will be demonstrating an installation of a Living Roof - a typical extensive green roof build-up, showing all the components from start to finish.

Windows & Doors - Mumford & Wood;

Mumford & Wood will cover the key topics associated with measuring up, ordering and fitting windows and doors for your self build or renovation project.

Roof Lights - Roto;

Leading manufacturers Roto will provide expert advice on fitting roof lights, bringing more daylight into attic spaces and loft rooms. Come and see exactly what makes them so uniquely different; being both easier and quicker to install Roto can save you both time and money.

Cladding - Eurobrick Systems;

Eurobrick will be demonstrating the installation of their insulated brick slip cladding system.

Insulation - KdB Isolation;

KdB Isolation will be on hand to demonstrate how to achieve the best thermal performance for both your new build or your retrofit projects. They will be bringing some mobile models to the show, whilst demonstrating how airflex is fitted 'live' in front of you and can answer any questions you may have there 'on the spot'.

Flooring - Woodpecker Flooring;

Woodpecker Flooring will demonstrate how to lay hardwood flooring; if you’re keen to do this in your own home, then learn the skills here!

Wood Burning Stoves - Chimflue;

Look out for Chimflue, who will be demonstrating a gas fireplace with horizontal flue - an innovative yet simple solution to the problem which occurs when people wish to install a fireplace where no chimney exists.

Lime & Tadelakt Plaster - Mike Wye & Associates

Mike Wye will be demonstrating the application of lime plaster - often needed in renovation projects; and will also let visitors try their hand at Tadelakt plastering, which creates a stunning polished plaster finish suitable for wetrooms and bathrooms.
