Tommy Walsh and Tommy’s House by Potton

The ever popular TV building Guru Tommy Walsh was at the show on Saturday 8th March and Sunday 9th March. He joined TradeSkills4U and Festool tool demonstrations as well as telling us more about the inspiration behind Tommy’s House by Potton.

Last year Tommy embarked on building an Eco-friendly house on a building plot which cost £60k, for an all-in build cost of £60k, built in 60 days - most people thought it couldn’t be done.

Tommy is passionate about affordable, well designed, well constructed, quality housing which shouldn’t cost the Earth, both in financial and environmental terms.

Tommy turned to Potton Limited, the UK’s leading timber frame package company for help. The Potton team rose to the challenge and not only provided the timber frame superstructure for the house, but were so impressed they commissioned Tommy’s House designer Steven Willis to design a range of house formats along the lines of the original design.
