''Affordable'' eco-housing gets green light in Suffolk

A new eco-friendly development in the centre of Bury St Edmunds has been given the green light.
Built by the Havebury Housing Partnership, the £1.15 million project will be comprised of a dozen one and two-bedroom flats.
According to Dennis Heath, development manager at the site, the project would provide "much-needed affordable" housing within easy access of modern conveniences.
He also said that the new sales enjoyed the highest eco-homes rating possible, a scale using various criteria to judge a property''s ''eco-friendliness''.
Solar power is also set to be utilised in the development, which will produce enough heat to cater for the majority of needs throughout the apartment block.
The homes are being made from high levels of recycled materials and are fully insulated with timber frames.
"The new homes meet the highest eco-homes rating and the development is set to become an outstanding example of sustainable design," said Mr Heath.
