Be careful with greenbelt land

People trying to buy plots of greenbelt land in Sevenoaks are being warned that they might not be able to get planning permission.
This shows how careful you must be about buying the correct plot of land for the sort of property you want to build. Land on the Chipstead and Dunton Green borders has been offered for sale but restrictions had been placed on the land which the vendors were unaware of.
In cases like these it is best to get expert help from a plot-finding service which can advise you on what planning permission, if any, you will need to obtain.
Maggie Williams, from the Sevenoaks District Council, said: "We are warning people who are thinking about purchasing green belt sites for housing that they are essentially buying agricultural land that is very unlikely to be granted planning permission to be developed."
Activities that normally don''t require permission like erecting fences or improving roads, do need it when on protected land.
