Brits 'prepared' for more property woes

An Adfero street poll has revealed that 84 per cent of people think that in 12 months their property will be worth less than its current valuation.
The survey, carried out in Leeds, did not find a single person who thought that their home would increase in value over the next year, while 16 per cent believed their home's value would remain static.
Nevertheless, one way to make money on property in the current environment could be to self build, with the typical home worth 25 per cent more than its building costs on completion.
Kevin and Fiona Clifton told the Telegraph earlier this year that they recently built their own dwelling in Easenhall, near Coventry.
They bought the plot with planning permission for £250,000 before spending £140,000 on the build itself and the house went on the market with an asking price of £650,000.
