Brown 'must deliver action not talk'

Gordon Brown must not go down the route of previous prime ministers and promise to resolve housing issues while in effect doing nothing of the sort, it has been advised.
Stewart Baseley, chief executive of the Home Builders Federation (HBF), has said that many promises have been made that have never been fulfilled, while the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) has made similar assertions.
In an interview with the Times, CPRE head of planning Marina Pacheco said that planning needed to be addressed from a multitude of angles.
"[Mr] Brown talks a lot about green issues but we never see the nuts and bolts that are needed to make this vision happen," Ms Pacheco added.
Every politician in the past 10 to 15 years has said that he will address housing issues. The time for talk is over. It is time to take action," Mr Baseley told the newspaper.
The comments come as the incoming Prime Minister assured viewers of the BBC's Politics Show that housing was now "a national priority".
