Buckinghamshire homeowners 'have high life quality'

People living in Buckinghamshire enjoy the highest quality of life among all the counties in Great Britain, it has been suggested.
Householders' properties play a part in this conclusion by Halifax in its first yearly Quality of Life Survey for Counties.
Most homeowners in Buckinghamshire own the property where they live, it was found.
Houses in the county are also typically larger than elsewhere in the UK, with 6.1 rooms being the average.
Other factors contributing to the quality of life in Buckinghamshire include above-average salaries, sunshine and GCSE results.
Its residents are also the healthiest and enjoy the best life expectancy, with newborns typically anticipated to live until the age of 80.
However, it is not all easy for people living in Buckinghamshire, according to Halifax chief economist Martin Ellis.
He said: "Average house prices in the county, however, trade at a premium of £21,500 to the south-east region, so there is a price for reaping the benefits of living in Buckinghamshire."
A separate study by Halifax recently found that stamp duty paid by typical homebuyers in south Buckinghamshire was the highest proportion of income in the whole country.
