Caernarfon to get regeneration project

The town of Caernarfon is now ripe for self-builders as it has just been the given the green light for regeneration.
Gwynedd Council has been granted a £2.1 million redevelopment of the Y Maes area of the town with money from the Welsh Assembly, the Tourist Growth Area fund and the council itself.
It will be put towards traffic management measures to pedestrianise some areas, plus creating a public space to draw people to the town.
Sioned Williams, from the council, said: "Our aim is to deliver a thriving Caernarfon which will be an even more attractive place to live, work, and visit.
"This scheme will improve the business environment and stimulate the town''s economy throughout the day and on into the evening."
Caernarfon is best known for its spectacular castle and has the largest Welsh speaking population in all of Wales.
It is 25 miles from Conwy and 27 miles from Harlech.
