Cavity wall insulation one of the most 'cost-effective energy efficiency measures'

An industry expert has championed the cost-saving benefits of cavity wall insulation.
Anybody planning a self buildproperty could significantly reduce their energy bills by fitting cavity wall insulation, Jon McGowan, the Energy Saving Trust's energy doctor, said.
The Energy Saving Trust claimed that around one-third of the heat lost in your property escapes through the walls.
With these figures in mind, Mr McGowan stated that cavity wall insulation "is one of the most cost-effective energy efficiency measures you can take in the home".
Meanwhile, as well as saving on energy, the insulation could add value to the home as the Hidden Value Guide from the trust reported that some buyers would be prepared to pay up to £15,000 more for an energy-efficient property.
Home insulation is the best way to save money on domestic energy bills and can cut around £275 off the annual bill, according to the National Insulation Association.
