Cavity wall insulation saves "significant" levels of energy

An energy-efficiency expert has suggested that it is not rocket science to save energy in a home.
Simon Church of eaga, a leading provider of residential energy efficiency solutions, advises owners looking to renovate their home and make it greener to consider cavity wall insulation.
Homes that were built between the 1930s and the mid-to-late 1980s are likely to have a cavity wall but there are still around 1.75 million homes out there that have not been filled, he says.
Mr Church also suggested that double glazing is important but suggested that windows do not always need to be replaced as long as they are draft-proofed which will "save a significant amount of money and improve the comfort level".
The Energy Savings Trust has revealed that the UK would save a total of £962 million every year if all houses had cavity wall insulation.
