Clear appetite for ecohomes, charity says

The public has a clear appetite for green homes, according to Friends of the Earth.
Marie Reynolds, spokesperson for organisation, has said that estate agents "should realise" that energy efficiency is a "definite selling point".
This could be good news for people who have undertaken a self build project and installed various green initiatives.
Ms Reynolds added that growing concern about rising fuel prices means a more energy-efficient home "will save a small fortune in bills".
It is claimed that an energy-efficient fridge-freezer can save £35 a year on power bills while an energy-efficient washing machine uses two-thirds less electricity and less water.
Measures such as solar panels on self build homes could also save households "hundreds of pounds every year", the spokesperson stated.
The Energy Savings Trust recently relayed that more than half of those planning to buy a property are willing to pay more for a green home.
