Community grants for going green

UK communities who want to cut their carbon emissions and go green are being offered grants of up to £30,000 by a leading green generator.
E.On, which provides electricity and gas, will offer the grants so that communities can buy wind turbines or insulate community hall roofs so that they cut down on heat loss.
It will help them to generate their own electricity from sustainable resources or to keep the energy they do use conserved.
"We know that plenty of local groups want to make their communal buildings more sustainable but simply don''t know how to do it," said Tim Pyke from E.On.
"We all have a part to play in reducing carbon emissions and using more sustainable energy solutions and this is our way of making sure that everyone has the opportunity to do that."
The company ahs also created a website which shows how you can save power and install energy saving devices in the home.
