Draught proofing a 'great way to reduce bills'

Homeowners planning to renovate a property and make it more energy efficient are being urged to consider draught proofing.
Paula Owen, of the Energy Saving Trust, has suggested that a simple and easy measure such as draught proofing a property could save around £25 per year.
Ms Owen recommend measures such as drawing the curtains at night and sewing thermal linings into them as other inexpensive ways to stop heat escaping.
Draught proofing can be installed "under doors leading to the outside, around the edges of leaky window frames, your key-hole and your letter box", she added.
The Energy Savings Trust has reported that the average household could save a total of £300 per year by being more energy efficient.
Those considering a self buildproperty can install such measures right from the very start and the trust has estimated that cavity wall insulation will provide savings of around £120 each year.
