Eco-town proponents to run roadshow

The Ford Airfield Vision Group, the body behind one of the 15 proposed eco-towns, has announced it is to run a roadshow presenting its plans for the 5,000-home development.

In addition to stating it will run events in early June, the body has set up a website for the public to view and comment on the proposals, reports the Shoreham Herald.

The plans have faced opposition from members of Arun council following the announcement of the shortlist earlier this month by housing minister Caroline Flint.

Another of the shortlisted proposals was an unspecified site in Leeds.

It has now been revealed that one of the possible developments in the city is a 9,000-home development around Rothwell, Oulton and Woodlesford on the south side.

Those wanting to live in an eco home but not happy to wait for an eco town to be built near them may look to acquire one using the self build method.
