Government advice on offer at Belfast self-build show

Government planning experts will be offering some sound advice to budding self-builders at the Self-Build Extend and Renovate Show in Belfast next weekend.
Representatives from the Planning Service will be on hand at the event, which runs from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th February 2005, to discuss any planning issues self-builders may have about the renovation projects they are looking to carry out.
David Ferguson, chief executive of the Planning Service, said: "If you are planning some new house building or extension or renovations, come along to the King''s Hall next weekend and you will be able to meet Planning Service staff face-to-face and discuss any questions you have."
The show will also feature over 200 exhibitors with expertise in a range of self-build projects, from laying foundations to fitting kitchens and bathrooms, to assist self-builders achieve their ambitions.
Over 17,000 visitors are expected to attend the annual event, which is now in it''s 11th year, to view the many ideas and products on display and get advice from the experts before embarking on their own self-build projects.
New this year will be the Sustainability Centre, where visitors can show their plans to sustainable building experts who will give them a careful once over and make suggestions for improvement.
