Governmental reforms 'great news for developers'

Plans to boost the UK's housebuilding efforts by 20 per cent over the next 13 years have been hailed by United Trust Bank, which has said that the government is now realising that actions speak louder than words.
Developers may be able to help first time buyers resolve affordability issues if such plans are successfully implemented, the bank noted.
Initiatives to convert brownfield land currently held by the public sector featured prominently in the proposals outlined by Gordon Brown earlier this month, with Linden Homes also voicing its approval of the new policy.
The firm is to convert homes on brownfield land in Banstead Wood, Surrey, it has revealed.
"Conversion of these historic buildings into residential dwellings is the best solution to ensuring their preservation and survival. It is encouraging to see the new Prime Minister promising the release of public sector land for development, but it will need to be done with some urgency if housebuilders are to meet his new target of three million homes by 2020," advised Linden Homes South East managing director Paul Cooper.
