Grand Designs Live to take place this week

This year’s Grand Designs Live will commence at Birmingham’s NEC on Friday, October 10th.

The event will run for three days and will offer visitors the chance to try their hand at self build techniques, attend a range of free seminars and consult design experts.

Commenting on the affair, presenter Kevin McCloud said that the show will be "packed full of fantastic interactive features to innovate, inspire and enthuse" those considering embarking on a self build project.

"Visitors will have access to plenty of celebrity experts as well as 400 exhibitors offering cutting edge products for your home," he added.

Interior designer Oliver Heath - who specialises in green designs - and green-fingered television gardener Diarmuid Gavin will be joining the roster of experts that are sharing their knowledge at the event.

Grand Designs Live will also return to London's ExCeL Centre in April next year for a ten-day residency.
