Hailsham cited as new build hotspot

Hailsham in East Sussex has been named as the next up-and-coming development spot for the property market, according to one of Britain's biggest housebuilders.

Redrow Homes, who recently developed property in the town, has invested a further £26 million to build yet more houses on their new plot of land off Battle Road. The company has said that the transportation connections and good location increases its potential for new homes.

The previous development of 30 homes, which "virtually sold themselves" according to the sales team, is to be joined by a newly-planned 146-home proposal. Scheduled work on the new homes is due to begin in early 2008.

Geoff Blake, the land director for the southern-based branch of Redrow Homes said: "We are very keen to build on that success by returning to the town. This site is ideally positioned and offers a wealth of choice for homebuyers who want a new property, from apartments to family homes."

He added: "We are also exploring other land interests in the area."
