Hammer away to your iPod tunes

One technological innovation which may be welcomed by tradesmen and other DIY enthusiasts is the new iPod and toolbox integration system.
Created by G-Tech, the Tune Time Toolbox looks like a classic toolbox made out of soft canvas but it contains built in NXT speakers as well as an iPod port, so builders can blast out their favourite tunes rather than just whatever is on the nearest radio.
The speakers are even powered by three AAA batteries so that the iPod''s battery does not become drained and the whole package is sold on the internet for £56.
Alongside these savvy features are more traditional ones such as 14 internal pockets, a mobile phone holder, a frame for extra strength and five external open pockets.
Other building innovations last year included Janet Shelley''s business start-up called Women Builders. She runs construction and carpentry courses to get women into the building trade and envisages that they will one day work for her.
