Hips 'are Labour's Right to Buy'

Hips

Home information pack (Hip) provider HipHipHooray.com has said that Hips are the equivalent of the Right to Buy scheme launched by the Conservatives, in that there is an initial controversy surrounding the scheme that will ultimately die down.

The firm has said that the packs will gradually gain acceptance, though it admits that this is likely to be a slow process.

Hips will be a mandatory part of the home-selling process for all UK properties from December 14th.

"I relate it back to when the Tories were in power and brought in Right to Buy and Labour's arguments against that. It was kind of like the Tories' Hips and that died down and didn't change when Labour came into power," said Lesley Sorridimi from HipHipHooray.com.

"The people at RICS and the NAEA have been putting up such a fight and what they are not doing is any favours for the agents that are who are on the ground having to deal with it.

"In reality you have to hope that the cream will rise to the top and people will start to see the real benefit of Home Information Packs."

The NAEA has today again criticised the packs for having a negative effect on the market.
