Hips ''can help home seekers''

The Home Information Pack (Hips) initiative goes live on June 1st this year and will help estate agents to become better placed to advise home seekers, according to one property expert.

Lesley Sorridlmi, from Hips provider Hip Hip Hooray, said that the property industry has being overridingly "anti-Hip" until now but after a pilot in certain UK towns it seems estate agents have been impressed with the positive feedback from consumers.

She said: "It will be the knowledgeable estate agents who gain from this

"All the estate agents who project a negative attitude to the customer will lose that customer. [The customer] will select a positive, knowledgeable agent."

Home seekers should look for the Hip code on their information packs in order to get a legitimate guide to the property because the companies allowed to use these codes have to go through lots of regulatory checks.
