Hips rollout going well

The rollout of Home information packs (Hips) has begun well, with packs being delivered to estate agents in under 48 hours, according to the Association of Home Information Pack Providers (AHIPP).

AHIPP says that such findings counter suggestions that the packs would end up delaying the sale of a property.

The fastest pack provider is currently Richards Gray, AHIPP added, which managed to deliver a pack for a property in Stratford upon Avon within two days of the initial order.

"Working with technology providers such as Quest and Thinking Applications, pack providers are able to ensure that Hips are ordered, compiled and delivered efficiently, at the convenience of the agent and the consumer," confirmed AHIPP deputy director general Paul Broadhead.

"I was impressed with the efficient manner in which our order was dealt with and the pack was delivered and this has helped to alleviate my earlier fears that Hips would slow down the initial impetus of bringing a property to the market," commented Knight Frank's James Oliver.

Hips were launched last Wednesday (August 1st) following a two month delay to enable enough domestic energy assessors to qualify.
