Hips to revolutionise home buying process

Some good news regarding the imminent arrival of Home Information Packs (Hips) is that they will save time and money which has been wasted in the past, according to experts.
The Association of Home Information Pack Providers (Ahipp) says that all too often there have been cases of duplicated information gathering when numbers of prospective buyers for the same property have requested the same information about the house.
With Hips on the other hand, buyers are provided with information upfront and so they will be more informed and less likely to drop out of the buying process.
"Providing a HIP at the time of viewing can significantly reduce the time between offer and exchange of contracts, but also minimise the window for gazumping, giving greater certainty for buyers and sellers alike," said Mike Ockenden, the director general of Ahipp.
Generally the time between offering and exchanging contracts is the most stressful, unpredictable and costly for homebuyers and sellers.
