Home improvement receives 'Christmas boost'

A new survey has revealed that almost one in five people have embarked on a renovation or home improvement project before Christmas.
According to FindaProperty.com, 18 per cent of Brits have prepared for the festive period by donning their tool belt and overalls and improving their home in one way or another.
It was found that redecorating was by far the most popular course of action, with 48 per cent of home improvers reaching for the paint bushes and giving their home a lick of paint.
Michael O'Flynn says it is interesting to see how many people are making some small kind of home improvement in time for Christmas.
He suggests that, because of the credit crunch, people cannot afford to move home, so are doing all they can to freshen up and improve their existing properties and maximise their "yuletide potential".
This notion is backed up by Ben Richards, content editor at housetohome, who claims that during the economic slump, people are looking for "easy updates" to their home.
