Housing development to include self build

A new housing development is offering would-be homeowners the chance to self build their new home.
Those who are keen to stamp their own identity onto a home can purchase a plot of land in Corby, Northamptonshire from Places for People, 24dash reports.
The plots are being marketed by Savills on behalf of development specialist Cofton.
Ivor Lafford of Savills told the news source: "This sort of opportunity doesn't come up very often. It's a wonderful chance for enterprising people to have their own house built to their own design."
The 20 self build plots range from 300 to 650 sq m in size and are located on an old gravel quarry site.
Meanwhile, in Manchester six out of 20 new canal-side self build plots in the New Islington development were decided by a competition from Tutti Frutti.
The rest of the plots are available for £88,000.
