Hull to get £200m housing boost

Council housing tenants in Hull could be set to benefit from a £200 million project to improve homes in the area.
Under the partnership between Kingston Works, a company formed by Hull Council, Kier Building Maintenance and Connaught Partnerships, the maintenance and repairs will be carried out over a five-year period on council-owned land.
Kingston Works will be carrying out its part of the project on plots in east and north Carr, while Kier Building Maintenance will be operating in the Park and Riverside areas.
Connaught will be overseeing the first part of building and development, managing some 1,700 properties in the Wyke, west and northern parts of the city.
A spokesperson for the Kingston group, Kevin Redmore, said the group would continue to employ locals in order to boost the local community''s economy.
"We will continue to work closely with local residents to set joint targets, measure performance and maintain the continuous improvement and high service standards achieved during the last two years," he told the Yorkshire Post.
