Huntingdon council completes land allocation plans

Huntingdonshire District Council has completed a housing land availability assessment which will be used to allocate land to construction companies and buyers for residential development over the next 15 years.
Huntingdonshire has experienced something of a residential construction boom in recent months, with the town of Huntingdon seeing particularly strong growth.
A lack of affordable housing that is hampering the ability of many first time buyers to get a foot on the property ladder is driving this boom.
According to the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, the new land availability assessment will help to maintain this boom by identifying potential sites for new housing development within Huntingdonshire.
It will be up for public consultation until the end of January and locals will be given the opportunity to discuss its contents and to submit any other sites they feel should be looked at.
Each site included in the assessment will be ranked in terms of its development potential with the highest scoring sites being included in new planning proposals for the region.
