Industrial property ''a good investment''

Investing in industrial property in some parts of Manchester is a veritable gold mine, according to one property expert.
John Sullivan, a senior surveyor at property consultancy Knight Frank, says that industrial property in the northern city is a steady investment and a "safe bet" for investors.
He said: "Levels of yields are coming down all the time so industrial is quite a safe bet for investors.
"It probably doesn''t get the return of offices and retail but it is certainly a steady investment."
He explained that Trafford Park is the main area for industrial property and places like Hayward Distribution Centre and Stake Hill Distribution Centre are both good examples of this.
South Manchester is not an area he advises because there is not much industrial space there but it is close to the airport which is promising.
"All round Manchester, even east Manchester is experiencing good levels of land sales in terms of industrial," added Mr Sullivan.
