Kent property popularity may threaten supply

The popularity of Kent as a place to live is likely to continue growing, it has been predicted.
Aprey Homes noted that Royal Mail research has shown that 5,068 house moves were made into Kent from outside in 2007, the highest number for any UK county.
The builder suggested that the county's property demand and values will remain high because of new transport developments such as the new Channel Tunnel links at Ebbsfleet and Ashford, plus the new high-speed rail links into London.
Earlier this week, Knight Frank noted that the south-east region in general has a shortfall of supply, with government figures showing that 35,800 new homes are needed each year but only 27,500 are being built.
Aspiring homeowners in the region faced with this shortfall of supply set against high demand may decide to solve the problem for themselves through the self build method.
