Land 'a very safe investment'

The rural property market remain strong thanks to a continued shortage of supply, John Clegg has said.
The chartered surveyors and chartered foresters group has said that the attraction of land will always prove to be a strong pull as it offers investors something "tangible".
Recent research from Savills showed that the prime country house market was especially buoyant in the first quarter of the year, and John Clegg has said that the market conditions remain favourable for sellers.
"There is no slow down. The market is buoyant. There is a shortage of stock and supply and there are plenty of purchases, so the market is quite strong," a spokesperson at the firm commented.
"If you are a seller then this is a good time. If you are a buyer then you are having to pay more for things than you did a year or a few months ago.
"Land is a very safe investment. They are not making any more of it and people like to have something that is tangible, something they can enjoy," the spokesperson concluded.
