Liverpool prospects 'good for years to come'

The prospects for the development of the property market in Liverpool are not only good at present but will outlast this year's European City of Culture status, local estate agent Sutton Kersh has said.
Director Philip Lawton noted that the city had already enjoyed one surge in investment in 2003 when the announcement of the award of this year's honour was made.
He added that the year just begun would bring more of the same, stating: "Liverpool remains a great place to invest and recently appeared in a Daily Mail article as one of the top ten cities that will defy the house price gloom in 2008."
Just as importantly, Mr Lawton emphasised, there was also large-scale ongoing investment in new building and urban renewal in the city, which would create new opportunities well into the future.
Liverpool's year as City of Culture will see a range of events covering music, art, history, sport and various other elements of the history and life of the city.
