Make your bathroom a real selling point

If you are renovating your home and want to make sure any changes you make are going to add value to the property then bear in mind that more bathrooms equals more, according to a new survey of estate agents.

Members of the Home Sale Network (HSN) are independent estate agents and this recent poll of them says that a contemporary and well-fitted bathroom is a real plus point when it comes to selling your home.

Buyers are estimated to be willing to spend an extra seven per cent on a property that has a stunning bathroom and this sort of style can be achieved with just £1,300 if installed using DIY up to £3,000 if professionals are used.

David Pank, himself an HSN member, said: "A contemporary feel could pay dividends and may just take a property to the top of a potential purchaser''s wish list."

He added that 95 per cent of independent estate agents believe a good bathroom is a potential closer in a home buying deal.
