Mayor enjoys DIY

The mayor of one north-west town remains "proud" of his DIY exploits despite having incurred a nasty accident because of it.
Barrow''s mayor Ken Williams was checking out his DIY handiwork earlier this month when he unwittingly banged his head on a door at home.
Bravely describing the considerable cut as "only a scratch" the DIY enthusiast told the North-West Evening Mail that he "walked into a door doing my proud DIY".
On a visit to Furness Building Society, he also told the paper: "We were looking at it and as I moved away I knocked into the door."
Barrow''s mayor is just one of many Britons who relish the aspirational scope of improving their home, with a recent survey carried out by MoneyExpert.com showing that Britons have spent over £1,500 on renovating their property.
