Millions to get free cavity wall insulation

Millions of UK homeowners could benefit from the government's new plans to offer help to households in cutting their energy bills, it has been revealed.
A £1 billion package of aid has been created which could help many homes in the UK cut heating costs by up to £300.
The Home Energy Saving Programme has been created to help make British homes more energy efficient by offering schemes like improving cavity wall insulation.
It will also help those who are most vulnerable by contributing to payments for energy bills over the winter months.
Furthermore, the government has also announced it will be putting forward legislation which will compel energy companies - and for the first time electricity companies - to contribute £910 million to helping UK homes become more energy efficient.
The Energy Saving Trust notes that improving cavity wall insulation could save homes up £120 per year and the equivalent of 800kg in CO2 emissions.
