Party leader backs green campaign

Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrat leader, has backed a bid to encourage greener building.
The Federation of Master Builders (FMB) announced that Mr Clegg had given his support to its Building a Greener Britain Campaign.
Focusing on the impact emissions from buildings had on global warming, Mr Clegg said the campaign was "very important".
Director of external affairs at the FMB Brian Berry commented: "We look forward to working with Mr Clegg and other politicians on practical recommendations aimed at government, which will help encourage householders to make their homes greener."
The FMB has stated it wishes to find practical ways of meeting government targets for greenhouse gas emission reductions.
People looking to self build their own home can take responsibility themselves for ensuring such homes are as green as possible.
One couple who did just that have won an award for the home which resulted, the Green Building Press reported this week.
Brighton couple Jackie Strube and Alan Stone won the £5,000 first prize in the Norwich and Peterborough Building Society's Eco Self Build competition for the creation of an eco home in a former derelict builder's yard.
