Polish builders ''fuelling DFY''

The current trend in Do it For Me (DFY) as opposed to DIY is leading to a mass exodus of Polish builders and other tradesmen from their homeland.
Major building projects within Poland, which has been given £7 billion by the EU for regeneration work, are apparently grinding to a halt because of the lack of builders.
New roads, tunnels, bridges and factories planned for completion in 2013 have been put on hold due to the migration of 300,000 labourers from the country to the UK where they can earn four times their salary.
Northern Ireland is also having problems with its tradesmen as a TrustMark report says that cowboy builders are costing the economy £81 per minute or £42 million per year.
One in five UK homeowners have been left "distraught by botched home improvement work" according to the report with 99 per cent of homeowners citing building work as a cause of major stress.
