Regenerated West Midlands 'appealing to first time buyers'

Regenerated West Midlands

The property market in the West Midlands is very friendly to first-time buyers when compared to other locations in England, according to experts.

Stuart Stringer, an estate agent at Edwards Moore, says that many prices in the area are far cheaper than house prices further south and that property is still available in decent areas for reasonable prices.

"Compared with down south, obviously we're a lot cheaper. You can get a two-bed flat for £90,000 in a fairly decent area. Our prices are probably a bit lower than most other areas. It's first-time buyer friendly," he said.

Regeneration in Walsall is creating a particularly buoyant letting market due to massive construction of new developments. Aldridge in particular is becoming very popular because it a good place to live for commuters into Birmingham.

"Walsall's having a lot of apartments built. They're regenerating a lot of the old part of Walsall masses of two bed apartments being built," added Mr Stringer.
