Renovate a working building

If home renovation is your bag then it can open up a whole host of unique properties that otherwise would not be habitable, such as old post offices.
In Gloucestershire a grade two listed building in the form of Painswick Post Office has just gone on the market for £360,000 and built in 1428, it is one of the oldest post offices in the UK.
It is a Tudor building with the characteristic exposed beams on the exterior and is still a working post office in a pretty village meaning it is a real catch for a lucky home seeker.
When buying properties with working shop fronts with a view to shutting down the business and converting it into a big house, you should always check with the local council.
The Adopted Local Plan means you must first establish that the business is no longer needed by the local community.
