Renovating a hit with female investors

An increasing number of female investors are turning to the buy-to-let sector, buoyed by strong returns and the chance to renovate a property, new research from Bradford & Bingley has revealed.
The lender's study found that the impulse to invest in property spanned all ages, with over a third of all female investors aged under 30 when they first invested and a fifth over the age of 50 upon doing so.
Furthermore, 71 per cent said that they had or would take on renovation work themselves in order to boost the value of their homes.
"Women are taking control by buying and renovating properties and are being hugely successful at it," commented Fiona Fullerton, property entrepreneur.
"The last few years have seen a huge growth in the number of women investing in property," Bradford & Bingley buy-to-let expert Fiona Curtin added.
Student properties provide the best chance of higher yields when it comes to buy-to-let investments, Landlord Mortgages revealed earlier this year.
