Renovation 'planned by millions'

Renovation

New research has found that millions of householders are looking to renovate their homes over the course of the next year.

The survey by Abbey Mortgages discovered that at present 39 per cent of homeowners are looking to carry out some renovation or home improvement work rather than looking to move house.

Such householders are looking to add value to their homes or increase their living space.

Many homeowners could choose to do the latter because this will enable them to upsize their homes without having to buy a new one in an uncertain housing market.

Many may wish to find out more from experts about how to renovate their home in a way that adds to the aesthetics, makes the most of space or increases the green credentials of their house.

Those in the south of England may find some answers at the Homebuilding and Renovating Show, which organisers have announced will be held in Newbury on the weekend of June 28th and 29th.

Just up the M4 from Newbury is the National Homebuilding and Renovation Centre in Swindon, which is open all year round.
