Scottish plots sell for £1 million each

Plots of land at the renowned Gleneagles hotel in Scotland are selling for over £1 million the first time that the seven figure sum has been breached in the country.

Two investors are already believed to have secured plots worth over £1 million at the Queen''s course, one of the world''s most famous courses.

After extensive renovations, property experts speculate that the properties could add an additional £1 million to the properties.

Several other plots have also been snapped up by golfing fanatics, with there being nine remaining plots currently on the market for £850,000.

Suggesting that the Gleneagles location would be one of the world''s most sought after addresses, Chris Hall, of Rettie and Co in Edinburgh, said: "The development has been carefully conceived to reflect the prestige of living at Gleneagles and the rising demand among many to bespoke design and build their dream home

The news indicates Scotland''s burgeoning property market at present, with a survey carried out in January 2007 by the Department of Communities and Local Government showing how house prices in Scotland are rising the second fastest of all the regions in the UK.
