Self-build getting ''more popular''

The sustained high prices of properties means that many people are turning to the self-build sector with one in ten new homes being built in this way in the UK.

Buildstore, a self-build specialist, also offers a self-certification mortgage which allows self-builders to borrow up to 95 per cent of the purchase price of the land and up to 95 per cent of costs in stages in advance.
