Self build event hailed as best around

The upcoming Grand Designs Live London consumer show has been hailed by TV presenter Kevin McCloud as being head and shoulders above competitors.

Mr McCloud, who hosts TV's Grand Designs, said the event "isn't just another home exhibition - like the programme it is definitive, authoritative, creative and original".

Taking place from May 3rd to May 11th at London's ExCeL, the exhibition offers self build enthusiasts the opportunity to purchase, build and furnish their own house.

Exhibits will be split into six categories, including those dealing with interiors, self build, gardens, kitchens, bathrooms and finished dwellings in a village setting.

It is the ninth year that the Grand Designs Live London show has been held and this year, organisers have promised 450 exhibitors, more celebrities and authoritative advice.

Meanwhile, another self buildshow is also taking place next month. The Scottish Homebuilding and Renovating Show will take place on May 17th and 18th in Glasgow.
