Self build in Bramhall to help you belong, report says

If you want to build a home in a place that gives you a sense of belonging, look for a plot in Bramhall, Stockport, it has been suggested.
Residents of Bramhall in Greater Manchester are said to have a greater sense of belonging to their local area than homeowners anywhere else in the UK, a new report has revealed.
The research, conducted for the BBC, claims that more and more neighbourhoods are becoming socially fragmented with people choosing to live among their own age, race and class.
Changing UK, compiled by researchers at the University of Sheffield, says that this has caused people to feel more lonely and isolated.
However, it was found that the commuter suburb of Bramhall is where people most have a sense of identity and belonging to an area, followed by Charnwood West near Leicester, Sefton in Liverpool, Upminster in east London and Sunderland's Washington.
Speaking to the news provider, Bramhall councillor Paul Bellis said: "It is a very family-orientated area [..] I think that is what attracts people to move here."
