Self build is 'worth the wait'

One Scottish couple who have built their own home are reportedly delighted with their bespoke self build.

Despite having to live in a caravan while the home was constructed, the couple claim that it was all "worth it", according to Sunday Mail

Angela and Raymond Barr bought a plot of land in the stunning Scottish countryside and embarked on building their dream home from scratch.

Ms Barr said: "I'll admit there were times during the build when we wondered if it was all worth it but you just have to look at the house we've ended up with to see that it was.

One of the highlights of the property is a 20ft swimming pool with a separate Jacuzzi spa, which Ms Marr says is "indulgent" but something that she has had her heart set on all her life.

Although many people choose to build their own home to benefit financially - with self builds typically worth far more than the cost of the build - it is also an opportunity to create a dream home.
