Self builders could win money

Worcester Bosch is inviting self builders to enter its Worcester Environment 2010 Awards with the hope of winning a cash prize.

Self builders who believe their project should be considered for an award can fill in an entry form and could win the equivalent of £1,000.

According to organisers, the overall winner will be invited to a Gala Awards ceremony where they will be presented with £1,000 worth of Thomas Cook Holiday vouchers or Bosch domestic appliances.

In order to qualify, the self build project must be a completely new build - not a refurbishment - and feature any boiler from the Worcester Bosch range, be it gas, oil or LPG.

"While the credit crunch appears to have created a lot of economic doom and gloom for some, self build, renovation, conversions and domestic extensions still remain accessible and in the current climate, are perhaps even more appealing," says Tim Doherty, managing director of the National Self Build and Renovation Centre.
