''Sexy'' South Wales attracting home seekers

South Wales is improving in popularity as a place to buy or build property and is deemed suitably "sexy" by leading property experts.
Andy Smith, the managing director of 1st Property Investment, which identifies UK property hotpots, says that Manchester is now waning in popularity due to much redevelopment taking place.
Instead, the motorway corridor of the M4 in South Wales has become a strong place for property.
"Wales has got an economy. It''s actually sexy to live in places like Cardiff now," said Mr Smith.
"Whereas 15 years ago, everyone from Cardiff upped sticks and moved to London. When you''ve got people like Catherine Zeta Jones buying thereand Charlotte Churchbuying in Cardiff Bayconsidering that they''re willing to live there, I know it sounds ridiculous, but it''s starting to make it look sexy to live there."
House prices are soaring at the moment in Wales, according to Rightmove, with annual asking price inflation currently at 15 per cent so it may be cheaper to self-build your own Welsh dream property.
